5 Tweets About Drug Prevention
Here are the pictures of my 5 tweets about drug prevention for red ribbon week. The website that I used is called Simitator.com. It is a generator for fake tweets. These are the tweets that I would send out if I was working with SADD, and preventing and warning kids in my school about drugs.
Personal Inspirational Poster
Here is my inspirational poster. This relates specifically to me because I hold a lot of things in my life close to my heart, and if something was to ruin that, I would be crushed. I hold my family very very close, my friends and sports close, and my 3 dogs. I chose for the poster to include my favorite things, but also show the message of what other people love and how much it would hurt them to lose that.
Interview About Drug Use
I interviewed my father about his aunt who died of a heroine overdose. Below are my questions and his answers.
1) Ask the interviewee who the person was the drug problem. What was their relationship to the person?
Her name was Indolene and she was my aunt. She was my mothers sister.
2) How did this affect YOU affect your personally?
This never affected me because she died before I was born.
3) What types of drugs was she involved with?
She took heroine.
4) Does Indolene still have a problem with this?
No, she is dead.
5) How do you think this changed Indolene's life?
Nothing really changed about her life because she always took pills and was kind of a druggie, but when the pills weren't strong enough, she started using heroine. She took some that was too pure one day in too high of a dose and it killed her.
6) How did this change your life?
I know the consequences personally of drugs and what they can do to you now.
7) Why do you think Indolene abused?
Like I said, she was addicted to pills, but she needed something stronger than that to take the pain ands stress away from the business that she owned, and I guess heroine did the trick for her.
8) If you were to speak to a group of teens about drugs, what one thing would you want them to know?
Educate yourself about drugs and the consequences because you never know what "messing around" could actually end up doing to you.
MY QUESTIONS:
Did she lose contact with family because of drugs?
No, we knew where she was, but whenever someone would offer to help her, she would always decline it. I guess everyone finally just gave up trying to help.
Was she influenced by anyone to do these drugs?
No, I think she was just always stressed out and hurting, and wanted to take the pain away somehow.
Do you think there were other reasons that she was taking pills and using heroine?
I feel like she may have been depressed, but she had so much pride that she never would have shown us any of the sad side.
